Multi-Level Patio With Dining & Living Room
This project was designed and built for homeowners with a young and growing family. A swale running through the middle of the backyard and falling grade created design challenges that we were able to overcome. These clients requested an area to eat, grill, and relax; in addition, they wanted a fire element to usher in a welcoming and cozy ambience.
We designed drainage to flow under the lower patio area with a rock garden/dry riverbed area on each side of the patio. Our design added character to the yard and transformed the problematic swale into an area of interest.
Multi-level patio spaces help define the grill and eating area from the relaxation zone, which are complete with LED lighting, a custom natural stone fireplace, cedar pergola, and TV. We installed the patio using Unilock Beacon Hill Smooth ‘Fossil’ with custom blend natural stone veneer on both the gill island and fireplace.
The grill island contains a gas grill, smoker, pull out trash can, and refrigerator.
Phase II of a new walk and plantings to the front yard will begin this fall to fully complete this outdoor space.
